Help leather is not looking healthy

Hey everyone,

My Finger Leather is not looking to good. A couple of days ago it looked healthy, then yesterday it did not open up. Now today it looks like this. Can someone help?

sometimes leathers almost shed there outer most layer. Sometimes they recover in a few days sometimes they don't.

I's hard to tell by the pic Did you do a water change or add anything to your tank. I would let it go it should be ok in a week or so. They are pretty tough

my leather does the same but usually extends out after a while. if your water params are good i wouldn't worry about it.

I know that they shed. But I have never seen it do this, losing all of the pigment. I did not do a water change nor did I add anything.

What is that dark colouration on the stalk? Is it cyano or is the stalk getting black?

As has been said, leathers can close up for days or weeks as they shed and grow. Make sure it is getting a decent amount of flow to help it shed it's mucous layer.

I would not say black, but it is shedding a brown film. Its not cyano. I took another picture, and its starting to turn white.

The brown looks to be it's mucous coating. Give it a few more days. If it starts to disintegrate then take it out.

I can see the polyps just opening up so that is a good sign.
