Help me filter my water better

I have a 50 Gallon Tank with
1 maroon clown
1 yellow tang
1 watchman gobie
1 manderine
1 Hipo Tang
1 Sailfin Tang
I know too many fish for this tank thanks to my LFS since i was new i didnt know any better.
now i need to find a stronger way of filtering my water,
I have a sump with active carbon, a protien skimmer w/ pre skimmer, a UV sterilizer,
what else can i do to better filter my water.

Give us some more detail...size of the sump; pump flow rating; type of skimmer.

The tang police will get on you with a sailfin and hippo in a 50 gallon tank.  I have to imagine they are small now.  You might want to consider an upgrade in the future.

Besides all the jokes does anyone have real advise!
I am not upgrading anytime soon so would a canister help?
maby one rated for a 100 gallon?

No jokes...please give us more detail on your sump and flow rates.

Canister filters are nitrate factories....you don't want this.

of course i dont want high nitrates,
I use RO water for my water changes,
I have a ramora skimmer with a pre skimmer.

A canister filter that is cleaned and maintained regularly is no more of a nitrate factory than a filter sock in your sump.

You can run a canister filter you just have to be sure to clean it on a regular basis. Every 2 weeks at the absolute most.

I Have a Pro Clear, Pro 75 with a pre filter,
I have 50 pounds of live rock,
I have a Remora skimmer with pre skimmer,
I have a Turbo twist 6 UV streilizer
The problem is I been told that in my 50 gallon tank the fish i have are too big of a bioload.
So maby with more filtering i will be ok.

Not only is the bioload a problem, but depending on the size of the fish's, there is not much room for them to swim in.
For the Macro-algae, all you need is a fist full or the size of a baseball. Trust me it will start to grow in your system. When it gets bigger, just trim it and give it away. I'm sure ther is someone here that can give you some.

You can put the macroalgae .. preferably chaetomorpha anywhere in the tank as long as there is flow and lighting. Keeping it in the display is not a good idea unless you want your whole tank to be covered in chaeto droppings!

I made this mistake in my 10G instead of putting it in my HOB filter and the chaeto went into a powerhead and got shredder throughout the system and kept growing.

Sorry to ask such stupid questions but what do you mean keeping it in the display?
and what are chaeto droppings?

When they say display they mean your main display tank. If you have a sump or refugium attached to your system, calling it your display is just a way to differentiate between them.

Chaeto is a macro algae that look kinda like green spaghetti that you put in a sump or refugium to soak up excess nitrates and phosphates. Generally you try to keep it out of your display because that is where the nice stuff goes.

We all started out with stupid questions, now everyone is a genius.
