HELP!!! need an id? snail or somethin?

About an inch long, Acts like a snail but moves faster. Looks like a small shell on its back, that's almost like an iridescent color. Some kinda snail? I have a few fuzzy chitons, maybe a baby? Havent noticed any of my corals being eatin, all is good.

i've had them in the past. there harmless. but never really cared to find out what they are.

looks like an abalone, harmless. We have had them in several of our tanks with no problems.

looks like an abalone, harmless. We have had them in several of our tanks with no problems.

lol - i had an abalone from aqob. It seemed like an interesting glass cleaner until it ate one batch of clownfish eggs.. :'( Either that or the female ate them all...but my money is on that invert!!

My little otter friend told me that an abalone has a complete shell on its back while stomi's only have a partial shell.

that is true of the one I had. In fact once you tried to grab it - it "sealed" itself against the glass making it almost impossible to pry off. Hence the reason why AqOb sold them in bags. They actually sell them live (occasionally) in the asian market on route 1/old post road. They are smart though as they place them upside down (preventing them from being immovable).
