HELP!!!!!

I got home and my tank was cloudy. My birds nest is closed up. Everything else looks fine. Ever since I got the birds nest it never closed up, even during the night. Apparently it has been running like this all day.

The only thing I could suspect is the new filtration I got from a friend. He never used them. It is the Deep Blue sponge filtrations. The phosphate, nitrate, carbon, and ammonia sponges. I put them in yesterday morning. Everything looked swell all day. I thought it even made the water clearer. I didn't check it before I left to work.

This is what I plan to do. Do a 10% water change and remove all those sponges. Replace my carbon and put in chemi pure blue.

Don't know why I put them in. It was free and seemed okay. I guess don't fix it if it aint broke really plays in here

Test your water to see what's what....plain carbon should clear up the water (instead of using the good stuff) I have some if you need it

tested it. Everything is on point. I guess I'm gonna just throw in carbon then. Thanks I have though

Maybe those filters needed to be rinsed beforehand. Could just be a bloom of dust from the filters

This is a guess, but maybe your water is too clean. Corals do need a little phosphate and nitrate to grow and look good. What are your nitrate and phosphate numbers running these "sponges?"
