Did you drain the gas the last time ou used it? That's probably the most common thing to go wrong with themTried to start the generator with no luck. Not sure what's going on with it.
Smell the gas. If it smells like turpentine I would drain the it. Also make sure to drain the cup on the carb. You will see a brass screw to drain it. Try to get all the gas you can out of theNo I had a new carburetor but on it in the spring. It started a few months ago. I guess I'll try to drain.
Glad to hear it Ed!Got the old girl working. Needed oil and to have the gas drained from the carb.
Can you use that gas for cars to keep it fresh in storage? I. E. Rotating it? I picked up 5 gallons but if it's not used it'll be next summer before I use it all. Just not sure if fuel stabilizer is ok for cars.Everyone should use a gas stabilizer in their gas. Then no need to drain it every year. Use same gas in lawnmower.
I'm not aware of any issues running gas with stabil in a car engine. Can you use that gas for cars to keep it fresh in storage? I. E. Rotating it? I picked up 5 gallons but if it's not used it'll be next summer before I use it all. Just not sure if fuel stabilizer is ok for cars.

I do pretty much the same.I buy gas about every month or so....to have it ready. After that month or so, I dump that five gallons into my truck, and then refill that gas can. That way I always have fresh gas. That's the one thing that caught me on Sandy, not having the gas....and with no gas stations open until about day 3 or 4. So what I did was siphon gas from my cars to hold me over.
