Hermit crab shells

Does anyone know if local craft stores have shells- and are they good- i have a couple of red leg hermits- one took to a shell in the tank- the other tried one on for a day and went back to it's old shell- worried that they'll kill my snails for their shells and don't want to pay shipping costs just for shells

They’ll kill them anyway to eat them if they can. I know my saltwaterfishstore and reefcleaners (never using RC again) both sell them empty.

Why not RC- I've had good experience with them- except my peppermint shrimp were doa- but I got reimbursed for them

If you buy hermits or snails from RC, you'll receive plenty of empty shells, that's been my experience hahaha.

Not mine- but I was more than happy with the snails - they were generous with the count

RC is strange, very rare to see a customer base so divided, I, personally and a lot of people I see, will never buy from them again. But the other half of the customers says they're the best thing in the world, second to Betty White.

I wonder if it has anything to to do with when people bought from them- how recent are the bad reviews. My only problem/complaint was that the peppermint shrimp I bought were doa- 3 days tumbling around in a bag- they should have at least added a piece of screen for them to hang on to- but they did reimburse me- other than that snails were all good, and plenty

No, but I appreciate the offer- my snails will have to stay out of the way or else for now lol

Bought a bag of shells today at a local craft store for $6.00- had enough hermit shells to last me a lifetime- and enough others to decorate whatever lol
