yeah i agree...i've seen nature programs where the strongest gets the best home, and as that one leaves his former home, the next strongest jumps on the just abandoned home...and so on and so forth.
To prevent this kind of organized chaos you could throw in extra snail shells, then they will all have their picks for the best home.
Or maybe they smell food....(as in each other).
No there was a hermit in the gray one. It only went on for about 10 min or so. It's not the first time I've seen them gather. Just the first time it was a rumble. Sometimes I will have all the blue legs on one rock. Another weird thing is no other types of crab get involved. I have redleg and NJ hermits as well. Maybe the blues are the psyco's of my tank.
That's funny.. My blues are the docile ones in the tank.. Scarlets excluded as they are lazy and calm. My red lags do get pushy now and then, but the jersey ones.. they where insane just like that. I actually tossed all but one back into the spot I got them from because they where too rowdy. lol
