Hermits had babies?

I started out with 5 blue leg hermits and was looking in my tank and now count 13. The five I had are all the same size. The new ones are very small using cerith shells or collumbelled. There may b more. This is just what was on their "gathering" rock. I didn't think they reproduced in our mini reefs
