My guess would be that it fell off something that you were carrying from your DT to either a sink, toilet, sump or other tank.

You might want to consider adding an Asterina-eating cat or dog for your CUC to extend your automated cleanup process to your floors. Either would also be useful in cleaning up any carpet-surfers that you happen to befall you.
