How far down can I put a stick?

I'm curious as to how far down I could place a SPS in my tank. The upper part is going to get crowded soon so I was thinking of going lower. Would a SPS keep its color and grow well if its towards the bottom/middle or is it top only?

Right now I have a reefbreeder value LED w/ 90degree optics.

The plain and simple answer is it depends. There are some light hungry SPS, while there are others that don't require as much. Now, I really don't know too much about the unit you mentioned, but it has 90 degree optics so it will penetrate the tank somewhat. That being said, it really depends on how deep your tank is.

If you decide to try (maybe you should post your tank height specs before doing this), try some easier SPS like montis or birdsnests.
This is a rou

I know monti's are fine (2 digi's half way down and doing well), I'm thinking more on the line of sticks.

What kind of sticks, fuzzy sticks? regular sticks? It really depends on the type of stick you want to put where.

LOL.

I was thinking of possible a stag of sorts, and maybe some smooth acro's. I'd love to do milli's but they never look as shaggy as the pictures I see of other peoples.

Maybe a deep water acro could work a little lower. Doubt a mille would work that low. Maybe if the areas aren't shaded, but still can't see them doing too well. Tho who knows, give it a shot and see.

Worst case they brown out right?
