how long to quarentine sick fish

so how long should you accually keep your fish in quarentine a couple months ago my fish came down with ich moved all of them to qt for three weeks and treated with copper. everything seemed good so i put them back into the display only to have a breakout again a few days later so back into qt thay went lost three fish and the rest seem to be improving dont see any spots but i thing i now have multiple issues when do you know they are well and good enough to put back into the dt. im afraid that i will make a jump and end up starting all over again. thanks jen

6 weeks is the Minimum to run the tank fallow and to keep fish in QT. Some people will go as long as 8 weeks.
