How to attach a large colony to the rocks

In the past I have always struggled attaching large corals to the rocks, the glue and or epoxy that I use never sticks well enough to hold the weight until it dries. I need to attach a softball size SPS colony and a large frogspawn colony.

Does anyone have any tricks!?

Thanks, Joe

I use a drill to drill a hole in the rock were its going then throw some epoxy or glue in stick frag in hole and it stays put..

I have found this to work when I've mounted a large gorg to an awkward areas.

First figure out where you want ti mount the coral and which part of the colony will be used to bond to your rock.

Second. Take your epoxy putty and mold it to the coral. I find that if you use to sglue gel this helps the putty hold to the coral. Then gently push putty into the area you want to attach it to. Slowly pull the coral with the putty still attached away and you'll have a imprint if the rock work. Set the coral aside and let the putty cure up.

Once its cured apply sg gel and stick it to the rock. You'll only have to hold it there briefly before the sg bonds.

I actually prefer not to mount colonies when possible. That way when I frag them at some point its easier to just pick them up and take a few frags. Downside there is your limited on where you can put them.
