Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I read, but not tried that if you point a power head at it, it will move and then release easier. Another one is make a RO/DI Ice cube and then touch the base. Use this at your own risk :nervous
DON'T USE POWER HEAD NOR ICE CUBE. I DID THIS BEFORE AND THAT WAS NOT WORKING. IT ACTUALLY ALMOST KILL THE RBTA. not yelling just want to be capitalize in emphesis.
my new method is use a dull head screw driver. just very gently touch not stabbing nor pinching the base or the body of the RBTA and slowly it will shrink and peel off. i think any metal piece would do it. but screwdriver is what I have try and it work.

I know you are asking how to move it without removing the rock, but if it is possible to remove the rock, I would do so. In my experience, the best way is to (temporarily) remove the rock- put the anem and the rock into a bucket, or a small tank with water, and the anem will not like the lack of flow and will start to walk, loosening itself from the rock. Then you can easily separate the anem from the rock and put the rock back in to your tank (again, assuming the anem is on a piece of rock you can remove from your aquascape).
In the alternative, annoy the anem so that it starts to walk on its own by doing the following:
1. Turn off your power heads and get a good look at where the anem's base is.
2. Squirt the tentacles with a baster, causing the anem to retract into itself. Then squirt the base near the rock.
3. Give the anem 5 minutes, and baste again.
4. Repeat as necessary until anem starts to move (45 min to an hour from the one time I did this)
I have used the powerhead method few times. It worked every time and the anemone comes off within few seconds. To me, it is much safer than a screwdriver.
I have removed a lot of anemones from rock. I just peel a little spot of the rock and just rub my finger between the rock and the foot. It will release after awhile just go slow and don't force it
Thanks guys, will try turkey blaster and finger on RBTA. Though my clowns may attack. In my old tank clowns would bite if I put my hand near GBTA. By the way, that GBTA is still lives in my new tank, clowns gone and have been replaced. And GBTA haven't ever split. It survived several tank crashes and outlived most fish (same as my bristle green starfish).
