How long does it take to charge the backup. Maybe someone can take it and get it charged up for the night. How are you doing temp wise.

Still no power. Took a drive around today, tons of trees down on power lines and across streets. My parents lost 3 trees and had two from the neighbor fall in the yard. We are fine, lost one of the gates on the side of my house. Battery run air bubblers running 24 hours strong. Vortech backup battery was plugged in this morning. Generator is running now, we bought it three years ago and never used it, started up on the first pull. Using it right now to run the hot water heater for showers. Will run the return pumps later for a while to get some circulation going through the systems and maybe a bit of light downstairs for the frag tank where all the corals are. With gasoline and charging stuff we should be ok hopefully. I don't expect power until the weekend
Pretty bad here too. Worse than the ice storm last year. I am thankful for our house generator, but we only have enough fuel for the next 7 days. I hope we can get a propane refill by then or we are out. My wife seems to think we have about 2 weeks before power! She asked why we just don't turn the generator off at night...I said my corals. ( blank stare from wife). Well I may be moving corals with temp set up tanks to my In laws this weekend....we will see.
Just got generator hooked up and tank running at full capacity temps are down in the 69-70 mark hopefully everything makes it ok...
Everything is good in pennsville. Maybe a couple trees fell across town, a few houses without power for a couple hours except mine. Minor flooding and damage. Did not have make any rescues in town. Salem County did send multiple fire trucks to toms river to.assist with the fires and water rescues.
Queens in NYC burnt alot of neighborhoods to the ground, same in ocean county so I hear. Dodged the bullet, could have neen a hell of alot worse

My power came back on about 8. 24 hours without power, the tank dropped to 59 but is back up to 76 and everything seems fine now. I might get away with no losses.
So I have decided to do load shedding to conserve propane in the event we are without power for 10+ days and unable to refuel. First thing, get wood stove going to get the house up to 76. Then at 10PM it was power off. Putting wood in the stove every 3 hours and so far coral and fish seem ok without any heater or aeration. Now mind you I only have a 55 and the max fish size in that tank is 2 inches (9 fish total). Orher 2 tanks are 10 and 12 gal nano with softies and lps. Hopefully a small bio load means a little better with the O2 demand. I want to see if I can make it to 6 AM. That would leave power out for 8 hours nightly giving an additional 3 -4 days of power. Hope for the best.
I never lost power. Space is limited but I can hold some coral for someone. I'm in 08106. Good luck to you guys. It's one thing to lose power but when you have a tank it's 1000x worse...

Check your oil they have a low oil cut off.
