IS ANY BODY FAMILIAR WITH THE BRAND SHIN MAO(I THINK THATS THE NAME IF IM NOT SPELLING IT WRONT)?
I WANNA BUY A 40 GALLON SHIN MAOFISH TANK,BUT I NEED TO kNOW IF THEY ARE GOOD.
THEY ARE ASKING $450.ITS BRAND NEW AND INCLUDES :STAND,SKIMMER,LIGHTS,AND THE FILTER.THE FILTER IS BUILT IN LIKE THE BIOCUBES
IS IT A GOOD PRICE??? HELP I DONT KNOT WHAT TO DO!

If I have this correct they are a higher end all in one. The quality is supposed to be real good, r\search over on rc,theres a thread about them .The Finnex is actually an exact copy /knock off of it. I think $450 is a bit much but not sure . I missed a 40 finnex last month for $90.

i don't have any pictures right now,but i can take them so you can see how it looks!
the filter in the back has 3 chambers(of course a lot biger than the bio cube)
and it comes with the stand too.i will post the pics later today.

honestly i think its overpriced.thats what i paid 4 my whole complete 90 gal.setup with 2 250 mh 150 pounds live rock skimmer stand ect.ect.and fish and corals.just look people are selling there whole setups and bigger is better.u will want a bigger tank in a few months ;D imo

i purchased one of these when they were just making the tanks.

The tank quality was good as far as them being a good all in one. Im not sure.

Will they garuntee it, are you buying it from a store or a person.

lol is that tank at the fish tank?they r going out of bus.i would wait or drive a hard deal.like 200.but thats my opinon
cant return it if somethings wrong ect......

I can't comment on the quality of that thing, but IMO it's overpriced.

When I bought my system (granted it was used, but only 4 months old) I paid $500 for:

- 75g reef ready oceanic tank
- 32" high stand (great for having "headroom" above my sump/equipment inside the stand) and had an 8-button powerstrip mounted in it for easy on/off of all my equipment.
- 30g sump complete with baffles
- Mag 9.5 return pump
- 48" Nova Extreme T-5 fixture
- 250w Stealth Heater
- Clamp-on light for sump/fuge
- All plumbing for overflow drains/return lines

I basically got a complete system except for a skimmer for $500. So for $50 more, I got a larger tank, way nicer stand, and an actual sump is arguably much better than an "all-in-one" type deal. The only thing that Shinmao had that mine didn't was a skimmer... and by the looks of it, doesn't appear to be anything special.

I bought mine on Craigslist, and there are always deals going up on there if you want to shop around. Even check Ebay too.
