ok so i just bought a hippo tang from OGII and it got ich =/
i dont have a qt, but i do have a ten gallon tank, but im guessing thats not going to be big enough
since i have two clowns a yellow and hippo tang, not only that but im going to japan june 30th
until about july 25th, so i wouldnt even be able to do the six weeks in qt
what do i do!!! =/

in your situation i would try and see if someone nearby can QT the fish for you.

do you have corals or inverts in the display? Maybe you could treat the entire display tank.

the other option would be to see if the fish can fight it off themselves by improving nutrition/food and increasing water changes - with particular focus on siphoning the bottom (in the hopes of removing the ich eggs).

It's going to be a stressful tough situation.

For what it's worth, the ten gallon could be used as a quarantine for the hippo before introducing it to the display. Then worst case- you lose the hippo only and not the rest of your display. I know, hindsight is always 20/20.

i have a couple mushrooms and a frogspawn so i cant do the display tank
I'm in woodbridge Township is there anyone nearby that would mind qt my tang?

Read this thread - pretty much all your questions are answered in here:

Get started on the QT now. Maybe someone can handle the fishes for the last few weeks.

If the fish live the next 3 weeks in the QT - come back to the board (but not this forum/thread) and post up to see if someone could help out. Pm me your address in woodbridge - maybe you're not far from Aqob - in which case I could help qt the fish.

aquatic obsessions? I am about 4 mins from there
and so i actually went there yesterday and Will told me
if my fish is eating to just keep feeding him, i got some food with the
garlic in it and then i bought my self a cleaner shrimp
he said that if before the 15 days are up before i leave for japan he is all fine then good
if not work from there so i think im going to try that out and see where it goes
