ID for something I cant even classify

Here is the picture, sorry for the bad focus. It hitchhiked on a zoo colony from Something Fishy, and broke off the original rock. I thought it was a sponge when it was on the rock but it is hard to the touch, it cant be a mushroom so im out of guesses.
