I'm in the market for a new phone

My contract has expire and I would like to get a smartphone. This will be my first one. Which out of the three would you pick? Please share your experience if you have/had the phone. I've been doing some research but can't decide. I know that the IPHONE has a different carrier than the other two.

- Windows Mobile 6.5 HTC Imagio
- iPhone
- Verizon Droid

LOL, I was just looking for the same info as you posted this. I was just notified 2 hrs ago that my boss is shutting me off. Can't say I blame him since we haven't had work for a year.

Looking for a plan for myself at the moment and will probably add Kelly soon after even though she has nextel/sprint for 2 years....They are just too expensive for personal use.

Always wanted an I phone, maybe I'll get it now!

Looking forward to hear what everybody says

Don't know too much about the phones but you may want to consider the carriers. I had both AT&T and Verizon. Verizon wins hands down! AT&T coverage is iffy. I live in Middlesex County which was in the center of their coverage map and couldn't get a cell from my house. Just something to think about 2 years is along time if your not happy.

I have a Sprint Hero phone. Which is an Andriod phone that just came out in Oct. Seems like a decent phone and Sprint data plans are the cheapest among the big carriers.

Of the three I would go with the Droid. If the iphone were on Verizon or Sprint's network it might be a different story though.

Oh and I would get a berry. ;)

iPhone has rocked my world.. Had the 3G then upgraded to the 3GS and look at every other phone as a mear mortal.. The iPhone is where it's at buddy.. I controll my computer from my phone. Check my bank, transfer money from account to account, facebook, myspace, mail, pictures, the camera is 4mpix which is pretty crystal clear, AIM, GPS, Music (it's an iPod), Sports, Games, Dictionary, Free Ringtones, eBay, Police Scanner, Weather 24/hour, Compass, Yelp (an app where I can pick out where I wanna eat right on a map with a billion other places to eat and I can narrow it down to anything), Flashlight, YouTube, Calculator, Voice recorder (GREAT for grocery shopping, memos at work, etc.), Notepad (perfect to jot stuff quickly), Pennies (An app where I track ALL the money I spend and see it at the end of the money, SO usefull!),Calendar, Video recording.. Everything in the world you can think of, the iPhone has, and any other phone with the same app, is a s***** cheap rip off.. Seriously.. As a monthly bill, it might be alittle much ($30 internet + mail, $20 txting if you're alone or like $30 or something for family) and then phone plan, but once you have an iPhone, i PROMISE you'll never look back.. just ask anyone else with an iPhone haha!
And I heard for x-mas the 3gs 8gig is gonna be $99! check it out!

+1 for the Droid, got it the day it came out and it is amazing. Verizon IMO has the best service and the Droid is on par with or better than the Iphone so I reccommend that phone.

Personally I have an iphone and I love it, it takes some getting used to as far as strictly touch screen and typing, but otherwise I couldn't ask for more. Mine is jailbroken and unlocked, so I can theme it etc., but if I were you I would either do the droid or iphone. The droid is relatively new phone, but the OS has been around since HTC G1, in which case is very strong from what I see.

IMHO I'd pick the iphone 9/10. Like I said the main drawback is not having a tactile keyboard, but otherwise its amazing.

My two strongest choices are the iPhone and the Droid but I still like the HTC Imagio.

Things that I found doing a little research

iPhone
Pro - Its been out for a couple of years, has tons of apps
Cons - AT&T service is crap, not customizable, no multitasking

Droid
Pro - OS has been around for a couple of years, customizable, tons of apps, FREE GPS, multitasking, Verizon service
Cons - New, not to thrill with the keyboard

HTC Imagio
Pro - Love the software, Verizon service, customizable (i think)
Cons - Not to many apps.

The droid keyboard takes a while to get used too, but it does not bother me anymore and I was coming from the VZ Navigator which had a great keyboard. I have big fingers and it still does not really bother me.

the verizon network is FAR superior. this is proven time and time again by independent drive testing. buying a fancy phone on any other network is like buying a vette with the engine from a kia. not only is vz's network better than any of the carriers right now, but verizon will be the first to roll out LTE, and in a MUCH larger footprint also. for those who dont know, LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the last step toward the 4th generation (4G) of radio technologies designed to increase the capacity and speed of mobile telephone networks. Where the current generation of mobile telecommunication networks are collectively known as 3G (for third generation), LTE is marketed as 4G.

Thanks everyone. Just got the Droid. Going to another carrier and not being able to customize my phone had a big impact on me choosing the Droid. The little time I've had it, I can say I will be happy. The keyboard is not that bad as some people state on the web. I already got use to it.
