Hey guys! Its finally here, the progress of the Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion 10 gallon tank... that we won at the raffle at Reefapalooza NY 2017
We placed the tank in our kitchen, since its smaller and our basement is getting cramped (full of tanks, but thats another thread to come) we decided to place it somewhere we could see it more frequently. The idea for this tank is to put our current pair of Skunk Clownfish and cleaner shrimp in it. We cycled it using live sand, live rock and Fluval cycle concentrated biological booster (which we also got for free from Reefapalooza!)
Current equipment purchased for the tank: Eheim jager trutemp 50w, which fits perfectly in the back, and a basic suction cup thermometer.
Lighting we are thinking about getting for this tank (this is a link)
There was however, an incident with this tank. Before setting up the tank, it was filled with tap water next to the kitchen sink and ran with some vinegar to clean it up and make sure everything was going fine. The wife while doing dishes accidentally knocked the corner of the tank with a stoneware dish (the dishwasher sits under where the tank was sitting at the moment). A small chip was left and the tank still holds water and the wife feels terrible.
If anyone has any tips about how to deal with this, because right now it is fine please let us know.
7/13: 8pm last night we were actually going to stock the tank but after coming home from the store we noticed the tank was no longer running, the pump failed on us. We currently have an airstone running in the tank to keep things moving until we get it fixed. We did reach out to IM to see about warranty coverage but are also trying to decide if we should just go for a different pump overall.
So far its been a rocky start but we are feeling positive.
Other things we are looking into for this tank: skimmer and spin stream nozzle to create more movement.
What would you add or do different with this tank?
