Cleaned feeder and it disintegrated while putting it back in tank. The inside is almost pure rust.

I have one of those. I don’t use it as feeder.
I use it to allow mushroom to attach to rocks.
I will check it out when I get home.

Mines did the same thing, where the inner magnet was busted open cuz it rusted out. Had the same issue with the gourmet grazer

The manufacturer is suppose to wrap the magnet so that it’s not expose to saltwater.

Wrapped, unwrapped, coated, uncoated.........
At some point water gets in.
I've seen it happen in plenty of different frag racks and plenty of other equipmentas well. Vortechs and koralia power heads have a pretty good history as well.
Once that covering has the slightest unseen crack its only a matter of time.

Agreed. Just seems that a year use for a $40 feeder which is designed to be watertight...

I have a strong suspicion that encased magnets rust because someone has dropped it and put an unnoticed hair line crack in the case. I have a number of rusted magnets attached to a pole in my basement...
