Ca is good, 450 is general range, but, unless you're growing LPS or SPS it shouldn't matter too much. Shrooms, zoas, and other softies dont utilize calcium, they rely more on light and slightly 'dirty' water for nutrients, which is where a nano fish or two is helpful. Softies love fish poo.
If your growing LPS a 10% weekly water change will be enough Ca and Mg refresh to keep them going.
Only time to really worry about Ca, Mg, and Alk in a nano is if you're trying to grow SPS, which would require dosing, serious lighting, and a a lot of monitoring as SPS in a nano is tough.
IMHO, better to sit back, relax, grow softies and maybe an LPS, do a weekly 10% change, and not worry about testing unless something seems to be going very wrong.
You're probably still going to go though a few diatome and possibly hair algae periods until the tank establishes over the next few months, its expected.
Im running xenia (with a purpose), 5 types of zoa, goniporia and a pineaple tree with no testing and weekly 10% changes and all growing well.
If you feel you want to run a protein skimmer once you add livestock, I have a biocube skimmer that you're welcome to. Drop me a PM if interested
