In need of someone with construction/drywall skills!!

Hey Guys,

I have a very squeaky sill plate rubbing on the sub floor when you wall along the bedroom wall. This is going to be the first kids room, and it is loud enough to wake them. Does anyone have the skills to give me a hand with this? I will pay if you do it professionally.

Thanks,

Joe

Can I ask how you know it's the sill not the joist ? Normaly if some thing is wrong with the sill plate your structure may not be sound . The joist in the floor will give you a squeak or creek as does the sub floor when not fastened down properly.

It could be the joist, the joist runs parallel with the wall that is making noise. The squeak is coming from right under the wall. This is on the second floor if that helps. I do not know much about building structures, I googled the noise and it said to screw through the sill plate to attach it fully to the sub floor.

If you could pop the trim off without damaging the wall, then you could but a few screws into the subfloor through the will plate. Also be careful not to break the trim piece as well.

If you are taking to me, I would help you out but you're a little to far from me and I have no free time until October at the earliest.
