Does anyone have Interceptor. I'm not sure that I have red bugs but I'm havng a issue with several colonies bleaching at the bottoms. A while back I pulled a acro eating crab from one of my corals, dipped the piece and everything was fine for about 6 months. Now I'm having this issue. I know that you have to remove all inverts when you treat the tank. Question: will the interceptor take care of the crabs as well as red bugs if they are present?

If you have red bugs, you will be able to see them, they are very visible crawling around the acro. Try a magnifying glass if you have one. Also I doubt red bugs would cause bleaching from the bottom, that sounds more like an ALK issue. Check your ALK and make sure your test kit is reading accurately. And yes the interceptor should kill the crabs, but sometimes some make it through...

The factory that made it was completely shut down to be retooled. According to our vet, it should be available again in a few months.

Must be something in the water. I'm having the same exact problem!!! My A.Nana, pearlberry, Miami Orchid and Paradise table are all STNing from the base up. I've been watching my Alk. since it started a week or two ago and it has been pretty stable. I'm not sure what else it could be. :( It's only those few colonies that are doing it, everything else is fine.

On a side note, I'm thinking about switching to BRS 2-part and dosing pumps just to be sure the Alk. stays steady.
