Internal return pump

I was looking into buying a return pump and have used mag pumps previously. I personally had no problem but i wasn't into getting all my parameters as stable as possible.

mag issues i've read were all heat related and energy consumption.

i really want to hear about eheim and ocean runner experiences. are they worth the extra cost over the mag?

Why do you want to stick with internal and not go external?

i have no space in my biocube stand. the dimensions are TINY. i had to buy a custom sump.

Ive been using quiet-one pumps for the last 20+ years and love them....No heat issues or brake downs.

Got ya. Yeah quiet ones are good I ran one for a few years

there is a huge gap with quiet one 1200 then the next model from ~300 to 6-700gph

my drain to sump will only be from 300-400 so it's a hard call. i don't want to be too low in flow.

Did you think of the Hydor pumps...the micro pumps are really tiny. The others are very energy efficient though a bit bigger. Check out PA since they gave us the coupon.

Speaking with Premium Aquatics, they have had a unquestionably large surge of returns of Quiet ones that failed in the last six months. I had two of them that did not last 3 months. They think it is a manufacturing issue that has yet to be revealed. On this last return they didn't even inquire to replace it but to issue a refund.

I would love to hear that they identified this issue and can install confidence back. I've heard Eheim are rock solid, but the high flow one is so much pricier the Q-ones or magdrives. (which I went back to)

That blows.. They were always cheap and good hopefully they fix the problem
