be in love with a powerhead? I got tired of waiting to get the new tank up to try out the new (to me) MP10's. I have always been in the "I will never pay that much for a powerhead" group but I'm not anymore. I was actually worried that the 2 of them may not be enough flow in the new tank........ not anymore! These things are awesome!!!!!!!

I was one of those "no way I'm paying that for a powerhead" but when I broke down and got mine, I joined the "these things rock" fan club about a minute after it was in the tank. :D

I'm actually surprised you waited this long to play with them. ;) I had mine wet 5 minutes after I got home with them.

Glad I'm not the only one!

I actually thought it was going to be a lot more fiddling to get it going right but it didn't. Plug it in, pick the mode, done. I can only have it at about 20-30% though or it starts making waves that come out of the tank. The one problem is that the LEDs in the driver don't work right. It seems like the blue flickers on and off and it's kind of hard to know which mode it's in. Anyone have any ideas?

The blue LED "rainbow" flickers? Or the knob flickers? Depending on the setting the lights do dim down. You can change how long before it dims. Or if your in short pulse "blue mode" to light will move fast across the "rainbow".

I'm not exactly sure which LED isn't working but the light isn't always the right color. When it's supposed to be purple for lagoon mode it's blue, same for reef crest. The only ones that are right are the blue pulse and the green constant. It isn't always like that either, sometimes it's right. Luckily I know the order and when it's in constant which modes come next when I hit mode so I can still use it. What do you guys use for the mode? I'm kind of partial to reef crest I think. Night mode rocks too!

I'm running lagoon mode @ 80% in the 40B and lagoon @ 50% in the 20 long. Every so often I will switch them over to nutrient export mode and let that run for a few hours.

o_O nutrient export mode??? I must have missed that one in the manual!! What is that?

Well, it seems that since mine is an older MP10 it doesn't have NTM or TSM....... That's OK, I can live with reef crest!

NTM is awesome it helps get things up to the overflow and down in the filter sock. Definitely good to have, I just picked up a mp10 off RC today. Can't wait :) after having the mp40s

I run an mp19 on my biocube and no complaints keeps flow going and corals movin lookin to do maybe 1 or 2 mp40's on my 90 cube

If you don't have an Eco-Smart controller, then my post about the LED "rainbow" makes no sence to you. You just have a single color changing LED right?

Thanks for the link George! I think I may stay with what I have for now though. Maybe after a few months I will upgrade them one at a time or something.

Yeah Brian, I remembered that even though you don't have the wireless you still have the white boxes. It took me a second to figure that one out....

The nice thing about the ones I got is that they came with a brand new extra wet side as part of the package. How often do you need to replace them on average?

No idea on replacement, I think it comes down to each unit and the wear that gets put on it.

I just fell a little more in love with mine. I bought a new wireless one that I run on my 57g and upraded and old mp20 to a wireless mp40 that is now running on the 45g. They actually talk to each other across the house, it freaked me out at first when I put one on feed mode, the other one automatically goes into feed mode.
