Is this GHA ? (pic)

I have a checker. If you're going to make a run up to AC, and want to go a little farther, I have some extra BRS High Capacity GFO, and the dry food as well. I don't know the condition of your Chaeto, but if it's dead/dying/decaying at this point it might be better to replace it. If you're coming bring some water and we can check that too.
I will probably do that. Ill PM you and see what your schedule is like. Thanks !!

Available at Lowes in Mays Landing.

Make sure you've got a good reflector, and replace it every 6 to 9 months.

Here's one at Lowes:

Ocean Aquarium almost always has some of those big turbo snails, although they're real bulldozers they are great HA mowing machines.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the site and I don't mean to hijack this post but I'm just curious what vinegar does for an established tank? A capful or so of vinegar dropped into a sump on 300 gallons can drop the ph from 8.2-8.4 to well below 7.5 or so. It comes back up in about 15 minutes more or less but I've never attempted it on a tank that had fish in it before. The only time I did it was on an empty system that I put lots of fish in to and rather than drip all of the fish, I just matched all parameters of fish that were still in bags such as salinity, PH, temp and whatnot. I used vinegar to drop the PH in the system to match the PH of the fish in the bags and it didn't take much at all to significantly drop the PH.

Again, I don't mean to get off topic but one thing I like about this hobby is that you learn something new everyday.

Thanks in advance,

Sonny

Many reefers are using some type of carbon dosing, either solid, in the form of bio-pellets or liquid, in the form of either(or a combination of): Vodka, Sugar or Vinegar. Vodka for its ethanol, Sugar for its sucrose or Vinegar for its sodium acetate. The article below deals with Vodka, and, although the dosages will vary from one type to another, the philosophy is essentially the same, reduction of NO3 and PO4.
