Mine have been working great. Never owned Vortech so can't compare. But the RW series pumps are better than the WP series. Wider flow and all areas of the tank are covered with nice flow. There is still dead spot but it's not a big concern for me. I am sure it can be better but I have no desire to change to anything else.
I have had the original wp series for over a year and it is still silent are running like brand new. Would by the new wireless series without hesitation
I run a Jebao return pump and a wp60, they both work really well. I modded my WP60 to work with my apex and have it controlled via that.
I am looking to get a maxspect gyre though because the wp60 is more of a fire hose than a broad range of flow. I like the gyre has an overall flow throughout.
