looks awesome John! I agree with Chris, makes me want to definitely build one on my own.

So I guess at one of the upcoming meetings you will be doing a demo on how to build a tank

It looks awesome!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. There will be no demonstrations ever of my lack of tank making skills. I'll leave that to the pros. Any way here is a new pic of the tank cleaned up and in its home.

Still got a lot to do though and none of it happens until this tank sits with water for a few days.

Nice! I can even see your reflection in the glass.

There are loads of differing RTV's........What RTV did you use on this build?

Whats the lighting on this bad boy going to be?

Got a AI Nano all lined up and ready to go. Right now I have it lighting up my sump that way I can get used to the controls.

Oh and we have a successful water test. At this point it's been holding for about 3 hrs. I think I'm good to go.

Next up is drilling for the glass holes kit and I still need to find something to sit under it. I was hoping to get black mouse pad kind of material but have been unsuccessful in finding it. Any ideas? Or I'll just go with styrofoam and put a nice moulding around it.

I had a block of wood with the same size hole. That helps with drilling the Hole. . The most important thing is to go slow and keep it wet.

I've drilled before though that was a 20gal. Not as much riding on that. This time what I did was still the glass panel that had the cracked corner. Got the holes where I want them and now I have an exact template to drill the tank. I'll just lay the drilled glass on top secure and start my holes. No worries about the bit walking and then I'll just remove the piece to finish off the hole.

This might work, you might need to get two has its 13"x10", Monoprice Gaming Mouse Pad

they have a larger one at 17"x13" too

Might want to try like a joann's fabric or michael's also. Ill call my sister in law tomorrow and see if they have something like that at Joann's.She works at the Mt Laurel Store. ill let you know

Lol I missed understood. What is the purpose of the mat underneath? They make black rubber vibration pads for furnace or air handlers. The make them in 1x1 cut outs so you can make them to the size you want. I know carrier sells them. But they are thicker than a mouse pad. Not sure if that would work for you.

Basically I helps to relieve pressure points under the tank that could cause sit "off". They usually have a bit of give to them like styrofoam. Im trying to avoid styrofoam mainly cause I don't want to put anything around the tank to cover it up.

No go for Joann fabrics. They have a material similar but its more like foam than rubber. The drum sound dampening pads might work though. Ill have to check to see if i still have the extra set for my drums. ill check when i get home from work for ya.
