Was rolling along today until

Bad news:
Went to get some water to refill my topoff tank in my 90 and found that the water in my brute container was frozen solid. Fearing the worst is reached for my rodi filter and it too was frozen solid. 4 of the 5 canisters on the system were cracked and I had to spend $140 to replace all the filters and canisters. Looks like the booster pump made it through, thankfully. To make mattered worse, the 40b intended for the refugium and the 20g high intended for the top off for the basement system were found shattered in the garage. Unfortunately I store all my equiptment in my garage and it is as cold as the outside weather and that meant single digits for the last few days. For some reason I forgot all about it.

That's it. Thanks for looking.

So is the new Ro/Di unit going into the basement or a space heater in the garage to maintain above freezing temps?

Everything moves to the basement.
Luckily I only had about 5 gals or so in the brute so it will be easy to move. I could even begin to imagine if that was a full 30gal. That would be some block of ice.

Was there water in the 2 tanks that shattered?

Nope. My rodi was sitting on top of the 20gal. The 40 was sitting on its side next to it. I'm guessing that the canisters breaking from the ice was pretty hard so it broke the 20. The forty was broken on the panel sitting on the ground.

I am super happy that I set up the ro unit in the basement. I ran the output line up to under my kitchen sink on the first floor. It works greats! I have about 35 extra feet of translucent white tubing if you want it.

That's exactly why I put the sink in the basement. Thanks for the offer on the tubing though. I got more then I know what to do with. And I have it in 5 colors.

Hey John if you ever have extra when you're done let me know. I'll buy some off you, would like to color code my RO/DI Station as well.

Still lots to do though. I figure around 3 days to fill. On Thursday I pick up the 65 gal tank I'll use as a refugium and the sand for the DSB is on the way. Still got to mount some stuff though but with the snow day today and my day off Thursday I figure I'll be running by sat or sun latest.

If you lived closer to me, I'd let you borrow my booster pump. Think about how long it is going to fill a 200 DD!
