joeymarines 90g build

Lol Paul! I'm on RO/DI now. I didn't have a filter but acquired one when I got this set up. I only say that as I read somewhere that they could be due to silicates. When breaking down the tank I only found 3 or 4 so I think I'm good.

So the tank is pretty clear already. For some reason I can't get these pics to upload the right way from my phone, they keep rotating. I will have to try from my laptop tomorrow.

Can anyone ID that small growth on that rock? I found it on the sand just before I started breaking the tank down so I glued it to a rock.

So the tanking is really taking off now. A lot of coraline algae growing on all the rock. My zoas are lookin great with all sorts of new growth. Red plating montipora is showing signs of growth after looking like I was going to lose it.

I had a client of mine who used to have a large reef tank say that he used to go to the shore to get water for his tank. Has anyone tried that and what's your thought on that.

3 Clowns in a 90g tank, is a bad idea. Over time, you are going to see some serious aggression forming. If it's possible, I'd rehome one, or put it down in the sump area (if there is room). Pretty much one pair of clowns per tank, unless it's a 6' tank and the clowns can set up shop at the opposite end of the tank. And, I dunno about going to the shore for water, lots of people have done it. I just wouldn't feel safe doing it. Who knows what parasites are floating around. RO/DI is a much safer route, good sir! :p

Uh oh! The 3 have been together for a year if not more in a 37 and just got moved in the last couple of months. I was a&s offered another clown and 2 damsels that I am picking up today. I guess I'll just have to keep a close watch and be ready to rehome a pair.

Thanks for the warning!
