Hello – Boontonbob here…I took my username from an off-the-cuff recommendation by RichT over an uncounted number of brown bottled beverages at my first club meeting.
I’m looking forward to hosting the July get together up north here.

I’ve been in the hobby for about three years, although I took a hiatus after having my first 90G tank for two and half years. It feels great to be back in these last six months, although my 75g Oceanic is still in it’s infancy stages. Due to killer daycare costs and the need to devote a lot of time to our twin two year olds (Timmy & Mandy), I have been taking a conservative approach to starting up again. I have made some improvements lately that have me excited about adding much more livestock in the next couple months.

My latest projects included plumbing in a 40g sump and MRC1 skimmer from my newly formed fish room. Projects on tap for the next month include putting in an auto top off system and kalk reactor. Hopefully, I will have them in by the meeting so I can get some feedback from some of our veterans in the club!

My dream is to set up a 180g reef in our living room which, coincidently, is directly above where the fish room is! This will probably be a year or two down the road, although I have been ever so strategically planting the seeds for this in conversations with my wife Marissa. In fact, we have had a few rather intense discussions about moving up this upgrade whenever my mind wanders and I see good deals come and go. These exchanges were often characterized by foot stomping and pleading, but for now I am enjoying getting back in to the hobby with my current set up and really enjoy being the club.

Hi all - looking forward to tomorrow. If anyone coming to the meeting has any chaeto they can spare, can you bag a little for me?

It's good to see the turnout increase nicely the last couple days. I'm looking forward to meeting the reefers and I haven't met yet.
