I saw a documentary on this a few years ago it's sad that people would actually do this to animals like that...Cut off there fins and throw them back in the water like it is nothing...

I agree its one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. There was a petition to stop the serving of shark fin soup in a restaurant in atlantic city not too long ago. Gordan Ramsey did a documentary on the subject. It's pretty good if you have time to watch. http://youtu.be/4SAkq6lsnoE

Just finished watching that video that Kevin linked. I never realized how many sharks were actually being killed for the fins alone and apparently the soup is more of a "tradition" than something that is really tasty.

This is just sickening and needs to stop!
