• Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.

just joined

One of the mods is going to have to upgrade you before you will see the forsale and members only sections they are usually pretty quick with those things...

Hey guys I just joined but am not seeing a for sale page or any rules about required post counts. Do you guys have one?

Hi and welcome to the NJ Reefers website. As others have stated, you need to be a Paid member to see the Members Only sections. Simply registering to the website doesn't give you access to these private forums, it only gives you access to our public forums.

I just checked our paypal history and didn't see any recent payments for the screen name you chose, so we cannot upgrade you at this time. If you have paid and feel there is some mistake, please send an email to membership@njreefers.org with any info you may have (paypal receipt or email address used for the paypal payment, etc.) and we can get you cleared up right away.

But it only costs $13 a year to become a member. It gives you many benefits :-

  • Group Buys - Group buys are held several times a year for different products from various vendors. Past group buys include Premium Aquatics, Air Water Ice, Atlantis Aquariums, Bulk Reef Supply, and Champion Lighting, just to name a few. Future group buys include carbon, NJRC Logo Apparel, cyanoacrylate, and frag bags.
  • Guest Speakers - Throughout the year we host monthly meetings throughout the state. We have guest speakers come in and speak on various topics during one or more of these meetings. This past year we hosted events with Julian Sprung, Tony Vargas, Scott Fellman, Joe Yaiullo, and Marc Levenson.
  • Discounts from LFS's and online sponsors of NJRC.
  • Discounts to NJRC events with a door charge.
  • Access to the many NJRC Members only Forums
Payment by Paypal includes Paypal fees.

Wow I came across this post and didn't even know there was a paid membership.
I didn't even look into the membership column I thought just by registering that was it. When I read this post I was going to pay for my membership but when I clicked on the link I wasn't able to input the info. Is that because I am using an I pad and not a desk to? Also it says to pay with a check or at a meeting or pay pal. Well I saw the meeting just passed and I don't have PayPal and would like to pay electronically can I use a card? If so can someone give me some help. I have been floating around this site and I like it and would like to complete my membership.

Im pretty sure PayPal is free. I've had it for a couple years and have never been charged that I'm aware of. Plus it makes using ebay and everything else easier. If the ipad doesn't have a pdf viewer you will need a computer to fill in the pdf application.

Im a recent paid member and i cant see the deals and steals section.

Try going to "forums" and then look for the "members only" section. Deals and steals is there. It could also be that you have not been granted access yet if you are a very new member. Hope this helps
