Just met a local Reefer

I was doing some tank maintenance and cleaning out my QT tank when the amazon delivery man came to drop some packages off. I was asking him what he has planned for today which he replied... fish tank maintenance. I chuckled and was like no way I just finished. So obviously I had to show him the tanks and brought him in to see them. We got talking about our tanks and I mentioned some websites; NJReefers & some others which he wasn't aware of. I exchanged numbers and sent him links to the site to which he said he's going to join. Hopefully he joins as he's having some issues with his LPS / Euphyilla that we can help him with.

That’s really cool. I have run into Quite a few reefers that have no idea we exist. Not sure how we can get our name out there. But perhaps if we asked all the local aquarium shops to allow us to put flyers up. It really is a win win. I think it’s safe to say that an educated aquarist has far better odds of success. The better your success The longer you are likely to stick with the hobby and the the more money you are going to spend at shops. It’s simply a matter of helping the shops to understand that we are in there best interest. Because we are.

also the more people we get involved in the forum the more deals on corals / supplies well have aswell more sellers and buyers works both ways would be nice to get some posts and such out there specially like the dream mall now millions will be there aswell

Matt, we used to have fliers for the LFS about the club. Not sure what happened but might be a budget issue. I just tell people about the club and hope they visit the site and then join.

If the club has a pre-made pre-approved flyers that was down loadable on the site. Than we could print them ourselves and have them in our cars. I personally visit about as many aquarium stores as humanly possible because I’m nuts hahaha. I would have no problem printing flyers and asking if I can post it. And there would be no cost accrued by the club. It only a few of did this we could blanket the tristate area in no time

I agree! I love abundance of corals! My frag tank is up and running now so keep looking!

I don't visit as many LFS but anyone I know who reefs in Jersey I send the link. I think having flyers in local stores would be great. I know at iconic in Tenafly Joe had mentioned me the forums when I first went in - I had already known but he's doing his part when newbies come across.

We have plenty of flyers guys. We leave it up to DALs but u will not stand in the way of enthusiasm. If you guys want to arrange a spot I can bring a bunch. Or pm address and I will gladly mail them !!!!
