just wanted to say hi!

this is my first visit to the site and im still trying to figure out posting and all but wanted to introduce myself!
my name is len, im a 37 yr old pool guy. ive had sicklett tanks for years and a little over a year ago started my first 75 gal salt tank with a 10g fuge. for pretty much being on my own through most of it, i think its turning out really nice. i love zoas and palays so i started with some small frags and now have a few nice colonies. leathers, shrooms, star polyps, xenia, and an elegance are also inhabs. i read for years about salt tanks and was pretty prepared on what to expect through cycling....
in the tank are a hippo and yellow tang, mandarin (fuge and display is loaded with pods), a percula, maroon clown, gobies, and a coral beauty.
i do want to add that im really excited to have found a local forum and look forward to making a few friends i hope

Welcome to NJRC.
Sounds like you're off to a good start.
thanks mike, i definitly have learned how not to do things, lol, but its been a great experience from the beginning and am beginning to plan the BIG tank when we begin renovations on the house. ive tried posting pics but they are from my phone and i get a message that the files are too big. ill figure it out soon and get some up

hi len and welcome to NJRC---
there's alot to get involved in---group buys, conservation committee, tale of the tank ( would be a good one when you start your BIG tank)
you should post images of your tank---we're always excited to look at someone's tank
any questions just ask away and there's always someone around to answer...

....lol thats as far as i can get with a pic....im not computer friendly.... copy and paste isnt working

alrighty, i think i got the photo thingy figured out...ill work on taking some good pics and starting a thread in the tank section.
i know alot of you are cringing as you look at the cc bed. i really like it and have no problems with it. i use a cannister filter as a vac and keep the bottom pretty clean. my fuge has a 3 inch sand bed to aid in cleaning. i am debating switching to a sand bed just to compare but im not sure. my water parameters are pretty stable and have had no issue with trates or algae outbreaks.
