Killer peppermint shrimps???

Given they flew out of the rock to attack the coral, it almost sounds like there was some smell that attracted them.

Just want to give an update. It has been two weeks since I moved my hammer coral into the in-tank refugium. Since, this problem is really doesn't happen too often, I decided to give my shrimp a second chance. What a mistake that was!
My hammer did recover very nicely from a first attack. All polyps were fully opened for a week. I opened a lid of the refugiun and let the shrimp to come in and explore. They ignored the coral, so a few days later I moved into the DT. They ignored it until yesterday. I got home and saw a little killer sitting on top of my hammer and there is nothing left of it. :'( They killed one head completely and the other head has a few polyps hiding inside. I am hoping they will recover. By the way, this shrimp attacked my ricordea as well. I was lucky to be home at that time and moved it out of the way quickly. My guess, they will attack anything that has polyps or reminds them of glass anemone.
