Kony 2012

I have noticed via twitter and facebook of this movement Kony 2012. i see it as a good way to get word out for something terrible happening in the world. Joseph Kony is a ugandan leader of the L.R.A which is notorious for kidnapping, and massacring children by the masses. These helpless children are also often used as soldiers or sex slaves. This must be stopped. I want to help the cause so i thought spreading it to here would be a good idea. The goal is to spread it around so that everyone knows about the problem. Please take time to watch the video to learn about the cause. It is 30 minutes, however it goes by quickly and is certainly a very moving video.

to offer a little information, I would do your own research on the matter in regards to the group that is asking for help. They are very discredited as a not for profit and their accounting is unverified in addition they've received over $13million in donations, only 4million was donated over $7million was chalked up to"program expenses" and $1.5 was for"administrative expenses".. not to mention their financials have yet to be audited by any external source.

I'm not trying to take anything away from what is going on in Uganda but I would do my own research before deciding to support the chairty that is producing the video.

My nephews showed me this video yesterday (one is in high school, the other in college). When we first started watching it, there was a lil over 4 million viewers. By the time it was done (1/2 hour) there were over 7 million! Wow, this is really taking off.

I was actually going to start a thread about it myself today, but Nate did already. Spread the word people. This is truly a great cause and this man must be stopped.

Xavier, I'll do some research on the group itself, but based on watching the video, the narrator of the video seems to have gone back and forth to Uganda numerous times to coordinate all the schools, radio tower, making the videos, etc. I'm sure some of the donations went towards that stuff at least. Thanks for bringing that up though.

You could be 100% correct. However, point still being....educate the people of the world. We have all heard of the atrocities in Uganda but have never been "poked" into doing something. Whether it be something as a financial gift, a piece of equipment to aid in their efforts, or prayer the choice is up to the indivudual. I defintely agree. If you want to donate financially, do the research. I am sure there are other charities focusing their efforts in Uganda.
