Took a couple pictures during my
Water change tonight. They're a little on the blue side just because I did the water change a little late. Lighting was 2 blue+ and reefbrite.

All seems well with the tank. Been crazy with work the past few weeks and have noticed some bryposis that I'm trying to fight. Sps seems to finally be getting some good growth which I'm really happy about.

Got tired of my seeing my skimmer sticking out like a sore thumb every time I look at my tank, so I threw together a "cover" quickly after work. Here's the before

And here's the cover

I may put some trim on it to sort of match the doors. After I decide to put trim on or not I just need to sand and paint it. The cover comes off for easy access to the collection cup and with the collection cup off the "cover" slides forward for when I need to do a cleaning of the pump and skimmer body.

So 8 months later I finally got around to painting the "cover" I made for my skimmer. Looks much better painted.

Some FTS from tonight after a good cleaning and water change.

All is doing well. I really need to start testing more. Tested tonight and my numbers are much lower than I would have thought. Need to up my dosing. Pretty sure the cause is a combo of a bit of laziness on my part and the fact the some of my sps are really starting to take off growth wise. I really should have paid more attention in chemistry class, it's one thing I really wish I knew more about and understood a little better.

Looking good Kevin, it's never too late to learn something new

Thanks mike! I have been trying to do as much reading on the topic as I can lately so hopefully a bit of it will sink in.

Looks good Kevin, I have to do something similar to hold my top off water

Thanks man! I really like the top off container it looks better than a bucket...lol. Not much room inside my stand so it works perfect. One of these days I plan to build a small cabinet for that side of the tank to his that and to house the controller I have that I never set up...lol. Who can I talk to about adding more hours to a day? Haha. Best of luck with the move, hopefully I'll be able to make it up.
