Hi everyone,
I just joined the forum a little while ago, and thought I would introduce myself and set up for my big build.

I'm originally from North Carolina and relocated to New Jersey about 6 years ago to be with my now wife. We did some hopping around north jersey in apartments before we settled up in west milford with our first house. After fiddling with a 29 gallon reef for a year, I got antsy and needed to get back to larger tanks.

I graduated with a degree in marine biology from UNC Wilmington in 2009 and worked in the industry for a bit after graduation, managing an LFS in Wilmington for a couple of years. Then I moved up here to jersey. In NC I had a 90 gallon system that I had to take down when I moved up here.

Now in our new house, I have a finished basement on a slab and an 8 foot wall. We can see where this is going ;-) Yesterday I picked up a 180 reef ready tank that will be my new display tank. As I progress I will post pictures on my build here!

Yeah, that will be great! It'll be a few months until things get to fraggin size, though. I ran 400w 10k halides on the old 90 and was clipping stuff weekly. Trying to decide if I'm going a similar route with lighting or if I want to go all Led.

I've been running LEDs on the 29 and getting decent growth but nothing like I got under the halides.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I pulled the laminate up from the tank corner of the man cave and moved the 29 today to it's temporary home. It looks sad and lonely away from the wall and in the middle of the room. I also moved the book shelves away from the wall that will host the tank.
