Does anyone do this? I will buy the part and pay you fro your time in cash or frags if I have any. I know Paul said it was pretty simple but I'd rather not risk it. The laptop is a toshiba p745.

My bro-in-law repairs laptops for a living. I'll forward this info in an email to him and see if he can help you out. I know he is always looking for side work and doesn't charge a lot either.

Kyle, I did my kids Apple computer (she sat on it!), and one of their phones. If you google your computer for "screen replacement," I'm sure you'll find a youtube or specific instructions how to replace the screen. That's what I did and found a youtube that was very specific in pulling out the old and putting in the new. It was easy with the youtube video.

+1 youtube it, its not as bad as you think, i replaced my old laptops screen when i dropped it and it cracked. It was a HP so i dont know if the difficulty varies between brands.

Heard back from my bro. Here's what he said:

Hey George,

I should be able to do it fairly easily. If he supplies the part, I could do it for maybe $20. I do them all the time at work, 99% of the time they turn out perfect, but a small percentage of the time something else ends up being wrong, or the LCD bezel cracks in the process (a fairly cheap part), or something unexpected turns up. As long as he understands that I’m not a business and can’t offer any guarantee, I have no problem doing it.
