Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah, Ive read through some of the forums at nanoreef. I'm looking to do something on a larger scale because I can't seem to get my cheap self past the initial outlay of the solaris fixtures...
Grow light is probably close to 5500K, which will be an UGLY yellow. There are no blue lights in that and the reflector doesn't look like it would help create the par you'd need to penetrate the water depth.
I'm afraid that is't quite what you're looking for unless you can get 1/4 of those turned blue.
Both are also available in blue that claim to average 460nm. I also have someone that can wire them for me as well if I need to go that route.
I also have a roll of aluminum that I might be able to fashion into some form of reflector. My biggest concern with them is the appropriate penetration and color temp to promote health and growth on the frags...
The biggest questions I have is how to determine how to cross reference some of the ratings these LED suppliers are using to see if they will provide the penetration and spectrum necessary to keep the frags healthy and growing..
Growlight has evolved just light ref lightings. The yellowish grow light is no longer the preferred ones for serrious growth experts. I wondered what kind of plants they are growing that requires so much growth. LOL. The newer grow lights are mostly red and blue removing most of the rest of the spectum to save energy and heat generation.
