Light fixture

Today noticed only 2 of the 4 bulbs were lit on my Solar Extreme T5 fixture. Since its old I assumed the bulbs went so replaced them and still no light. The bulbs are good because I swapped them with the working ones. It seems to be those to positions 1 and 3. I placed two 14k bulbs in position and 2 and 4. The tank looks yellow. Any suggestion on what bulbs to use until I get a new fixture. I have some blue and purple. I only keep softies and LPS and tank is a 72g bow front.

Thanks,
Mark

toss a blue one in with the 14k bulb and it should even out the color for you i would think.

So looking at LED lights I ran into an issue. The tank brace is broken so there is a piece of bamboo wood being used to support it. It rises about 1 or 1.5 inches high. Most of the LED strip light is low and will not fit. Any suggestions as I am on a budget. Hanging from ceiling is not an option

I found this on Amazon. The fresh water description states 2" height but cannot find it here.

Did that and still looks yellow. I can live with the appearance for now just worried about an algae outbreak. Should I use two blues?

Using two blues wouldn't hurt, i believe there's a few people on this site who use nothing but blue bulbs, with maybe a purple or actinic thrown in, and do just fine. Extreme corals also only use blue lights, no whites. They are led lights, but pretty much the same thing.

Marcus, I saw those. the 180w are $50 each. My concern is quality; pay $100 now and a year later or less buy something better so wasted money.
The other is nice cause its programmable but not sure if justifies the cost for an unknown.

If your keeping softies and LPS you might want to check out this light - https://www.amazon.com/Current-USA-Marine-Aquarium-36-Inch/dp/B00GFTNG3S Now I know you said something about using Bamboo on your tank which hurts the use of lights but I'm not sure what you mean (could you post a picture so we have a better idea what your working with?) I had this light on my 54 until I upgraded to the Kessils. I now run this light on my 36 bow front tank. Its nice can its programmable and come with a remote to change on the fly (even some cool options light lighting or cloudy).

If this will not work I would look for ones that have arms cause you said you are unable to hang from the ceiling. Most of those (like the AIs and Kessils) will cost you a pretty penny but are sweet lights. Personally I love my Kessils.

Here is pic for those that asked. The brace sits 1" above the top rim.

I did see a 48" light similar but it was almost $200. Why I was looking at the other lights.

My LED lights arrived today. Not use to having them and not sure how I feel. I assume once they are mounted higher will get more coverage.

Put them about 10-12 inches up, i had reefbreeders and put them up around 16 inches with 90 degree optics and it was a nice spread, i'm assuming yours are 120 degree optics
