Light hanging suggestions

Now that I am moving, I would like to hang my lights from the ceiling again but want it to look cleaner. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can grab from HD or Lowes to do this with? I used eye hooks with braided metal cable in my current house which works great but I'd like a cleaner look if possible.

Ethan used a piece of trim to hang our lights. You should be able to find a photo in our build thread.
It looks nice.

I used the rails from the track lighting section at lowes. They come in black or white. They are lined with copper strips, which I removed. In the metal stock section you can find metal flat stock about an inch wide that fits perfectly in the track. I then cut the stock into 3 inch sections, drilled it and put threaded "O" hooks. It looks neat and gives me the ability to move the lights side-to-side if need be.

It would depend on how decorative you want it to be. Here's one method. Or you could mount a piece of lumber to the ceiling, and trim it with some decorative molding, and use what ever attachments you wanted, i.e. cup hooks, eye bolt screws, etc.

Link didnt work for me. Id be fine with the wood but I dont think the tank is under any joists so im worriee abiut it holding. Id love to just screw 3 eye hooks into the ceiling, use the fiahing line and then maybe build a small box with nice trim to slip over the eye hooks when I get the time. Just worried if the hook in the plaster ceiling can support the light. There is also those toggle bolts I can use with a decorative hook attached. Still worried about weight. They support 5lbs each. Id have 3 holding up 2 leds

The hooks I linked are rated at 20 lbs. It comes with a plastic dry wall anchor, but could be removed, and simply used as a screw. Is it a plaster/lath wall or dry wall?

Most secure way of doing it would be to mount a board to the ceiling, can always put trim around it and paint to match to make it look nice, and then hang from that. The weight will be dispersed through the mounting points on the board to the ceiling, and there wont be as much pressure on just a little screw in some drywall. I had to do this at my apartment, and it was solid as a rock.

So mwybe a 2 foot thin board with 6 or so screws dispersed?

Yeah past the board you can use any method of suspension, i just personally dont trust single point hangers in drywall. Especially electronics hanging over water lol

Depending on how thick of a piece of wood you put up will determine the length of the screw, but I'd go with either just a regular drywall screw or deck screw. Either will work.

I just ordered two sets myself. My while fixture should be around 25lbs. I'm hoping that adding a 3rd hanger it should hold well.
