Lighting advice needed from the pros!

Well i went with smart farm lights 140w each supposedly their 6 channel linking was easy let’s see how they hold up and how well they work I’ll hunt market place for something like a ap700 would be nice :(

@DangerDave not sure if these people are bsin or just out of their minds made a post on r2r for more opinions on the lighting matter guys telling me i have to have 200 watt led lights on this 200 gallon
And that i need like 6 of them how the hell is that even possible when my ai primes had 90watt 2 of them worked fines same depth

Everyone has an opinion, a different environment in their reef, and different goals they are trying to achieve. That info may be right for certain tank types and shapes, but wrong for others. You get to decide on what your reef is.

Probably true eventually I’ll add some more light really want to get one of those reef breeder photons but don’t want to fish out 900$ lol maybe next year I’ll do it
 
If i was gonna start over i would get a t5ho fixture and some metal halides and i would probably buy used.

Or get t5 and some name brand leds used again. You can get a nice light for couple hundred over a new cheap light on Amazon for the same price.

That’s probably very true problem is i needed to start up my tank and I’m not rolling any crazy high demanding corals yet i have zero sps atm swell
I’ll be hunting for somethign higher end used aswell the reef breeder seem like lights id like with all the cool stuff like storms clouds effects
