Trying to decide what lights to get for my tank. The dimensions of the tank or 72x27x27 I don't have a big budget $700 max. I have been looking at 2 sb reef lights 32 inch or 3 or 4 ocean revive t247b. If I can find a deal on some kessils or radions used I would do that but they usually go for more then $700. I m leaning towards the 4 ocean revive think they are the best for my budget and will give me the best spread. If anyone is running the ocean revive or sb reef can you give me some feedback thanks

I think @greybolt003 is selling a 60" 8 bulb ATI fixture for like $450 right now. You could pick that up and maybe supplement with a LED strip for a solid lighting solution. You could also get some used radions (gen 1 or 2s) for pretty cheap if you look around and upgrade the LED pucks by sending them to Ecotech later down the road.

Yeah I saw that for sale I like t5s ran them on my other tanks with good results but a 8 bulb is 640 watts for 10 hours a day will jack up my electric bill and make a lot of heat in my canopy.

problem with the Ocean Revive is it's controller, I have a fixture and it's purely a timmer. it does not have a sunrise/sunset functionality or be able to adjust intensity on a time bases, it will be set to whatever you set it at for the duration you set the on/off time for each channel. you could however mod it to take on a pmw compatible controller but that'll void the warranty.

Yeah they don't ramp up but I was thinking I can have one turn on first and then have the next one turn on like 10 minutes after and so on.

I would grab 4 of the eBay black boxes and then add T5s. cheap enough to mod for apex dimming and wouldn't take a major pocket hit if anything goes wrong.

$215 for each fixture.

i'll be using the 46" version over my new build with T5s.

I have two AP700s running, and may add the aquatic life hybrid fixture and mount them inside. I've read the reviews on R2R, and they've been solid so far.
