Lighting for a 90 reef

Looks like I'm going to be purchasing a 90 gallon RR setup. I found someone selling an 8x54 T5HO Nova Extreme Pro 48". My question is will that be enough light for a mixed reef (softies, clam, sps, etc..)? Or should I be looking more towards a 2x250 MH setup?

Thanks

I'd be looking at LED's.

There are plenty of people with mixed reefs running 8 t-5s. With the right placement of the coral you should be fine. The newest thing is Led's though.

I'd go with that fixture you found of t5 I'm going with a similar fixture t5 but unlike you I'm still lookin. Led's are cool but 1 has to be very careful not to burn corals as I have seen happen to many people

+ what everybody said..more then enough light for a 90G I have the same over my 120 with everything even placement is not that big a deal with that spread. I wouldn't put SPS in the sandbed but better to get them up in the flow anyway. I have clams on the sand so no worries. LED are nice if and when you can afford them. Get good bulbs for the fixture is the only new suggestion I have.
