Lighting Suggestions

Hey Everyone,

Looking for suggestions on a lighting fixture for my new nano, a 16 gallon bowfront. Any suggestions? Price is not a conecern.

Thanks

If you are able, a DIY led setup would be an excellent option. A 70W MH or a 24" T5HO setup would be 2a and 2b.

Now that I have gotten ahead of myself. :) What are you planning on keeping?

Ive spent so much time on my setup I've just started to think about livestock.

Probably just some soft corals, mushrooms...know of a place to get some ricordea? and polyps

(1)
if keeping soft corals, you don't need high-end MH light, T5 would do more than fine. (or, $ is not an issue, then LED!)

(2)
try to make the monthly meeting - 6/26 in Kendall Park...

and to check/reply to the frag link, so you can pick them up at the meeting...

*NOTE*
most likely the cool raffle frags would be some-how won by those meeting newbies!! (again! the 1000 times!!)

We use PCs on the 12g and I keep mushrooms, zoos and some LPS in there. The 20g has T5s and we can keep almost anything in there depending on position. The mushrooms and zoos in there are doing very very well. MH on a tank that size would be overkill and you would have huge heat and evaporation issues. I would agree T5s would probably fit what you are looking to keep. They do not run nearly as hot and don't pull as much electricity.
