I finally was able to swap out the stock lighting from my Deep Blue 48" Solar Extreme Fixture (Thanks Paul and Sid!)
And all I can say is WOW, I can't believe the difference the lighting made in my tank. I have an acan that I thought was washed out, purplish, and white. Now with the new lights its purple, white, and bright orange. My orange people eaters, now Im seeing a bright red in there I never saw with the old lights. My frogspawn and hammer are actually neon. I still cant believe how much better the tank looks.
All I can say is, if you havent changed out the standard bulbs in the deep blue fixtures, do it now!!
I went from
2 x Deep Blue Actinics
2 x 10K Day Lights
To
2 ATI Aqua Blue Specials
1 Blue +
1 Purple +
Just as an example of the difference here is what my people eaters looked like before the light upgrade:
To looking exactly like this: (not my picture but this is exactly what they look like, still working on getting my white balance right)
