Live Aquaria snail order - not good

So, as Amado pointed out, there was/is a big sale at Liveaquaria on snails.
I decided to take advantage and renew my cuc in all tanks.

Ordered 125 trocus, 15 cerith, 15 nassarius, 15 margarita
I received 125 dead trocus, 12 dead cerith, 4 dead margarita. For 170 snails ordered 29 arrived alive.

Their customer service was fantastic, very apologetic, and refunded the order immediately, but I have no idea how the order even got shipped like that.

Just of curiosity how did they ship them? Sorry this sucks but at least you got your money back. Its crazy that amount of snails died from shipping

The shipping looked OK. Bags were all wrapped and then in a sytro box with some heat packs.
I think the problem was that the snails appeared to be prepackaged in lots of 25 and guessing these prepackaged groups were probably dead before they were even put in the shipping box.

Place is reef cleaners. I have never ordered from live aquaria. The deal was very good on paper but this is ridiculous. Who puts 25 snails in one bag?

snails are tough to kill. I have a frag tank that has rocks from my tank breakdown and I have done nothing to that tank and it still has live snails with no heat and no water movement

I just got a large shipment from Reef Cleaners and all the hermit crabs arrived dead. They refunded the cost of the hermits but would not give me free shipping on a replacement order since just the hermits would be below thier minimum. Now I need hermits.

But glad they took care of it. I ended up with a store credit that unfortunately ill eventually have to use.

I got a shipment from them a few weeks ago.
It was missing items, all hermits dead, most snails, dead, and shrimp dead in a clouded bag.
Upon opening the box I knew it was gonna be bad, the smell was horrid. I had a back and fourth with the guy until I finally had to get PayPal involved for a refund.

I had a similar experience. He told me the hermits weren't dead, they stay in hiding when stressed. But I could clearly see their bodies hanging out, not in the shell. Had a helluva time getting a refund. But everybody swears by them, don't know why.

I looked at RC this morning and checked how long it would take to get here with Express Mail. Usually it's 2-3 days but with Covid 19, shipments are taking longer. Example Express Mail that is shipped from RC on Monday will now arrive on Friday. That's just too long

Told me the same thing. I sent him pics of the clouded water and dead hermits out of the shell and he still insisted that they will be fine

RC used to be a great place to order from. But my last few orders have been questionable with the latest being downright disgusting.
I'll never give him business again, and told him directly i will attempt to sway anyone looking to order from him to other places.

Funny cuz I just ordered a few items from them, including snails last week. They should be arriving by tomorrow. I'll post up what I get on here.

I just received an order yesterday from Pacific East Aquaculture (for a small cleanup crew). Usually use Reef Cleaners, but wanted some frags too and they had best prices overall on the things I needed. Everything arrived very well packaged and in good shape. The coral all came out immediately almost. All Hermits and snails, 2 peppermint shrimp and a serpent star all moving immediately in the tank. I was very satisfied. They called today to check on everything. Was very impressed.

Years ago when I had my last tank Live Aquaria was the only online vendor I would order from and they were great. When I came back to the hobby and saw they were now owned by Petco and saw all the reviews of how they have changed, I steered clear.

I got a CUC package from RC a few months back, it was great. A lot more snails than I ordered. All the snails and hermits made it. Only casualty was an emerald crab, that was refunded immediately. Even though I said it wasn’t necessary, since it was part of the package and I was happy with what I had.

I just put up a post about Pacific East. I received an order from them today. My second one. Same experience as you. Corals, Peppermint shrimp and sea cucumber, everything alive, healthy and open or moving around almost immediately. They are they absolute best. And I love that they actually call to check.
