Loctite super glue gel

i cant find coral glue in stock anywhere, i was wondering the loctite gel formula was safe for corals. i am trying to salvage some zoo polyps and put them on the reef disc they came fell from.

as long as the ingredient is Cyanoacrylate, you're ok to use it. I use the superglue brand. Make sure you use gel, cause it sure is messy if you don't.

Sounds like what that chubby little guy with the grey beard and glasses told you when you asked him in Aquatic Obsessions! ;)

Hmmm.... Me thinks you know too much! :) Might you have been that chubby little guy with grey beard & glasses?!

im such a jerk, the whole time im looking for this guy b-line on the forum, i met bill at aquatic obsessions a week or two ago and i thought he said his user name was b-line, being the idiot i am i didnt notice the b-lange and put the two together that i heard him wrong.

the glue is working out for me, the only problem is i got glue fever and the only cure is cow bell.

The club should do a group buy for this glue and the IC gel.The locite works the best for me under water and the IC is great for fragging out of water ! What are your thoughts ? ???

Loctite sure is expensive when compared with coralafix or the like, though. Those little bottles don't last very long.

I know Depot charges $5.00 for a 10 gram tube adds up quick, and they get used quick also.I am one off those guys that believe in the phrase "you get what you pay for".

Hanover Pet has a shelf of "reef-labled" super glue, huge bottles, and even solvent for unsticking the frags from your fingers.

But I agree, I've used Loctite super glue, preferably the gel, to glue frags many times. I don't think it matters with super glue.

Hey, I got a question: The scale modelling people use this stuff called accellerator which makes the glue harden instantly (sets off its little chemical reaction manually). Has anybody used this when glueing frags?

The super glue you buy in the store is triggered to cure by a lack of oxygen. Dentists use a similar cyanoacrylate glue which is triggered to cure by their handy ultraviolet lights. I wonder if there's a reefin' dentist out there who has mounted frags that way.

We bought accelerator when we bought the glue through the club group buy. I use it when I'm setting frags, and rarely have a miss-fire. I do wish the glue were thicker though and the next time we buy glue we'll be looking for thicker gunk for sure!

it's $5.96...lol it go's a long way, you only need a drop or two and you can
get around 50~75 frags out of a bottle..the small tubes are only .02 0r .03
grams..a few frags and you're done...
